In a culture in which relationships are increasingly virtual or physically distant, After Hours Arts offers an inviting and welcoming space in which to dig into some artistic skills, and participate within a wider community at the same time.

The concept of After Hours Arts is simple: you are invited to join in any one of a variety of concurrent workshop series—the first AHA! includes poetry, music and storytelling—offered by experienced facilitators from our own neighbourhood. All workshop sessions are designed for novice and experienced participants alike, because we value the chance to learn from one another.

Each After Hours Arts evening will begin with an opportunity for participants to share a simple meal of soup and bread before the workshops begin, and after the workshop sessions, the groups will come together again for a short, multi-disciplinary wrap-up—to share new work and/or stories about the evening’s experience.

Everyone has a part to play. Come find your part!

After a great start in May and June, After Hours Arts returns for a full Autumn series on Wednesday evenings, September 12 & 19, October 3, 10, 17 and November 7, 14, 21:

  • Field Trips into Poetry
  • Creative Community Music Ensemble
  • Story Swap
  • NEW! Our Stories, Our Story
