Discover treasure buried between the covers of thousands of great-quality used books. In addition to the hundreds and hundreds of quality pre-owned books that you expect to find on the shelves, the pews of St Mary's will be filled with many hundreds more.

This year we celebrate the richness of Indigenous writers, history and culture. Besides the books, you'll find art cards and more by local Indigenous artists, and learn about the soon-to-be-updated Oak Bay Community Green Map, and other events leading up to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.

And as always, you'll be able to:

  • Browse dozens of new titles in every category
  • Bid on special treasures in the Silent Auction
  • Enjoy smoked salmon and hot dogs at the Grill
  • And meet neighbours and friends, old and new

Proceeds from this sale will support St Mary’s work as part of the ReconciliACTION Oak Bay Network, as well as our ongoing local charity partners: The Food Bank at St John the Divine, Threshold Housing and Our Place.

The Churchmouse Bookshop—which is also open every Saturday, 10am - 1pm—receives good-quality used books from the Greater Victoria community and gives them out to new owners in return for cash donations in support of St. Mary’s charity efforts and partners. In 2023 we continue our support of the Food Bank at St. John the Divine, Threshold Housing, Our Place Society and more.

So, come and browse the books and enjoy the community. Bring your friends. Bring your children. Bring the dog. Admission is free. Donations of books in advance of the sale are welcome (received on Saturdays 10am-1pm)!
