St Mary's is pleased to present pianist Jorge Carrizales performing works of Frederic Mompou, Mario Ruiz Armengol, Astor Piazzolla, Julio Ituarte, Federico Ibarra, and Arturo Márquez.
Jorge Flores Carrizales was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. He obtained a B. Mus. with honours from the University of Guanajuato in 2016, where he studied with Elena Podzharova. He has given recitals in Mexico and the United States, and is in his second year of a Master’s program in piano performance at the University of Victoria, where he studies under Arthur Rowe.
St Mary’s Presents is a new series of concerts showcasing new and emerging musicians. Proceeds from this series support these musicians and further music and arts events at St Mary’s, for the community.
