We need your help!

Our tongue-in-cheek name for our by-donation bookshop is 'Churchmouse' - but we don't really have a good idea of what our mouse looks like!

You've heard the old sayings: 'poor, or hungry, as a church mouse' or 'quiet as a church mouse'? Well, we don't think our wee friend and host is particularly poor or hungry, unless (s)he's hungry for more friends. Nor particularly quiet, since our first Churchmouse After Hours Coffeehouse included bagpipes and a hurdy-gurdy!

But (s)he does want to be recognised when we put posters around town or post on Facebook.

That's where you come in, friends: We're holding a contest for artwork depicting our church mouse. The artwork needs to be something we can use in advertising (print and electronic), and preferably depicts Mouse in a couple of different poses, allowing for flexibility of use. All images must be original works.

  • Deadline: Tuesday, February 28 (Shrove Tuesday, or Mardi Gras, depending on your calendar!)
  • Prize: $100
  • Submissions accepted:
    • in the St Mary's office (1701 Elgin Rd, Mon-Thurs 8:30am-1:00pm)
    • or at the weekly Churchmouse Book Shop (same address, Saturdays 10am-1pm)
    • or electronically by email to afterhours@stmarysoakbay.ca

We look forward to seeing what our church mouse looks like!
