St Mary’s is pleased to announce the 2025 Advent concert series, Notes of Joy! Local performers contribute their gift of music as we prepare our hearts for Christmas, and support a local charity. Once again, we are pleased that donations will support the work of the Victoria Hospice Bereavement Fund.
The Advent noon concert series was established in 2007 by the late Catherine McFadden Dunning Young.
The Concerts
Each concert will be open for in-person attendance, as well as live streamed and viewable on each concert's event page (see links below as the season progresses), on St Mary's live stream page. Nov 26: “Folk Odyssey”
Join Stelutza for a lively European folk dances, interspersed with a bit of Irish as well as distictive original tunes.
Dec 3: “String Theory”
Ever popular Mittwock Trio returns for a calssical journey through the spheres.
Dec 10: “Reflections of Sound”
Bennett Chiu, violin, Jany Lu, violin, and Alex Chernata, clairinet, present pieces by traditional and contemporary composers.
Dec 17: “Joyful Noise”
Pianist and singer Tony Booker plays Bach and Brahms and sings traditional Spanish, Russian and German favourites.
