Thanks be to God—and to everyone in our communities who have pulled together to keep one another safe over the past year. With the progress of vaccinations in BC and the continued downward trend in COVID-19 cases, our Bishop has permitted parishes in the diocese to return to limited in-person worship. Our leadership team and volunteers have been hard at work behind the scenes to submit a safety plan, which is now been approved.

We are happy to announce that St Mary's will be open for limited in-person events starting Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Some things to note regarding in-person worship at St Mary's:

  • Seating will be limited to 50 persons indoors, with room for a further 15 in the garden
  • Pre-registration will be required, so that we can be certain to remain within our capacity limits.

  • Contact tracing measures will be in effect
  • Strict physical distancing will still be required
  • Masks are required indoors; if worshipping outdoors, masks may be removed once seated
  • Congregational singing is still not allowed
  • The Eucharist will be distributed in the form of the bread only, with precautions taken on the part of the presider(s)
  • There will be no post-worship coffee fellowship until restrictions are eased further

And for those who wish to remain at home, services will still be streamed live.

This post will be updated as the BC Restart Plan progresses through its phases, and as further guidance are received from our diocesan leadership.

We are thankful, hopeful, and careful—all at the same time! We hope to see you soon!
