November has become a month of reflection and remembrance, beginning with the celebration of All Saints and All Souls, and continuing through our annual Act of Remembrance in honour of those who lost their lives in the great conflicts of the 20th Century.
For the second year, the community is invited to take a moment in St Mary's Memorial Garden to visit and contribute to The Community Poppy Project. Spend some time in personal reflection or prayer, and place a red or black stone or two as part of the emerging poppy in the centre of the courtyard.
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
